6 Tips For Better Twitter Marketing

It is surprising but true that a 140 characters’ status update can be an effective marketing tool for your business. If you do twitter marketing the right way, twitter will prove to be a great marketing tool. Below are our top 6 tips for effective twitter marketing:

1. Provide value to your customers
One good way to determine if you are providing value to your customers is by asking yourself if you yourself will read your tweets. If you do not find them interesting, then who will?! Write interesting, informative and entertaining tweets.

2. Make a great twitter profile
Twitter is the place where you can get a bit personal with your target audience. Reveal about yourself. Put up a great profile picture and also a great background picture. Remember your aim is to attract customers not scare them away.

3. Advertise to past and existing customers too
This may seem counter-intuitive but it makes sense. Very often people think that once they have got a customer, they have already tapped into the business these customers would bring. Hence they do not need to advertise to them again. But this is wrong. Successful companies advertise their products and services to their past customers periodically. By making consistent impressions on past and existing customers, you will develop a loyal customer base.

4. Employee tweets
People like to know the people behind the company. This makes the company more real for them. Have your employees write tweets regularly and also have them engage with your customer base.

5. Use keywords
List the keywords which describe your company accurately. Then try to incorporate atleast one of these keywords into your tweet. Incorporating keywords into your content is a great way to drive traffic, so do make use of them.

6. Tweet regularly
If you do not tweet regularly, then your target audience will think you do not care much about them. This does not mean that you bombard your audience with tweets but it does mean that you must have a tweeting schedule. If you write far too many tweets, then you run the risk of not tweeting what is of value and hence losing your target audience.

Using these strategies, you can make twitter into your most powerful online marketing tool.

6 Important Marketing Trends in 2013

Internet marketing has become an important part of any company’s overall marketing strategy. So you should think carefully about your online marketing strategy.

1. Focus on design:
A well designed marketing document will attract more attention than a poorly designed one. Hence design your website well. Apple’s products have been so successful because they look classy and well-designed. Same thing goes for products of other companies like Nike. Hence focus on design.

2. Go visual:
Visual medium is the popular medium on the internet. No one likes to read blocks of text anymore. Everyone likes to view images. Infographics are becoming increasingly popular and there is a surge in interest in Pinterest. Facebook, Google+ and other social networking sites are also becoming visual. Hence take full advantage of this medium.

3. Go Mobile:
There are billions of mobile users in the world now and several of these users use smartphones. There is also a steep rise in the sale of iPads. It would be foolish not to take advantage of this medium. Incorporate mobile into your overall marketing strategy.

4. Optimize Your Online Marketing for Multiple Screens:
This is the world of multiple screens. As we said before, people access the internet from their mobile phones. They also access internet from their T.V.s. Hence it is a good idea to take that into account in your online marketing plan.

5. Explosion of Social Media:
Social media has come a long way. There is an exponential rise in the number of social media platforms. Make best use of these diverse social media platforms in your internet marketing efforts.

6. Email Remarketing:
It often happens that a prospective customer abandons a shopping cart just before making a purchase. Why not have another try at getting the customer back? Email them to remind them of the value you can add to them.

These are some important marketing trends in 2013. Follow them to get the most out of your online marketing efforts.

Keywords on pages in bold – beneficial or harmful to SEO?

One of the webmaster had a query

G Lee wrote:

Hello:
I am redesigning a webpage in which I have the opportunity to place keywords in bold. Is there any SEO benefit to this? Also, with the Panda and Penguin updates, are there negative consequences to making keywords bold?

I have been unable to find current thinking on this matter.

Thanks.

Reply from Tedster:

“Here’s the kind of question I’d ask: Is there a user benefit to placing the keywords in boldface? Would it make the page’s communication clearer?

Google’s algorithm today is trying to understand user interaction with your website, not just trying to add up the various ways keywords are used. In older days (especially the 90s) algorithms working in a more mechanical fashion, like walking through a checklist and assigning points for each kind of usage. Today, things are much more subtle and you are well off to put your energies toward enhancing customer/user experience.

I’m not aware of any negative effects. However, there might be if you go over the top. “

I hope contextual links will be more beneficial than the others stuffs and we have to wait for co-citation links.
